El Diablo- M. Robinson

I’ve been sitting on this review for the last two days trying to form a coherent thought that would some how do this book justice. M. Robinson has just delivered to us the holy grail of romance books.

Alejandro “El Diablo” Martinez is the ultimate bad boy that we all love to hate. But you then find that you aren’t capable of hating him, because the way he loves is so fierce, so consuming, you can’t help but root for the Devil. From start to finish, I loved how Martinez’s narrative never strayed from it’s original intent. He is an asshole whether you like it or not. Yes, you wanted to punch him in the face once or twice, but that’s just the Martinez we all know and love.

Lexi’s cheekiness and zest for ballet was captivating, but I felt like there was so much more M. Robinson could have done with Lexi’s character. I get the attraction of the age difference, I just felt like at times Lexi’s temper tantrums were too much for me. Lexi’s narrative wasn’t as complex as Martinez’s, and despite my hesitation towards Lexi’s immaturity, I still feel that her and Martinez are a match made in Heaven. I loved and respected how she never gave up on her and Martinez’s love, even if it seemed like she did.

I was hooked from page one, and slowly but surely lost all sense of reason by page 430 (hint:the end). Robinson started the book off launching your heart straight to your throat, and not once lost momentum. If you’re looking for a book that takes you on an emotional roller coaster that you never want to get off of, you’ve found it. If you’re looking for a book that makes your heart leave your chest in the best way possible, you’ve found it. If you’re looking for a book that is worth saying up till 3:00 a.m., while you have been crying since 1:00 a.m… You. Have. Found. It. 5 Halos, M. Robinson. Heck, 100% recommend read from me.
